Medical Applications of Molded Pulp
The medical applications of molded pulp include a variety of sustainable & biodegradable packing solutions and products. MPE has the ability to manufacture thermoformed molded pulp, laminate it with bioplastic films that do not take away from the biodegradability. These parts can meet temperatures from -8 F to 420F. We also have a proprietary coating that can make our parts be impervious to water, oils and other liquid forms as well as low dusting. This is especially cohesive for the clinical setting. Our single-use wash basins, kidney-shaped bowls and coated clamshells can also be used in an autoclave. The high hygiene, low particulate aspect is the perfect solution for today’s medical industry.
Medical Packaging Applications
As a single-use packaging source, companies are finding molded pulp to be a valuable resource for packaging instruments for the surgical setting. Molded pulp is also biodegradable, making it an eco-friendly product for any medical application. Utilizing pulp in the clinical setting also limits the spread of germs due to its single-cycle ability.
Medical Product Applications
Molded Pulp Engineering can have single-use containers that can hold water, alcohol, oil, and mild detergent be manufactured. These containers are also auto-clavable, and have extremely low levels of lint and dust, making them a perfect container for electronic components requiring a static neutral package. The coatings have a very low bioburden making them safe for treatment room applications.
Thermoformed Molded Pulp
Thermoformed molded pulp is an ideal application for the Medical Industry. It is manufactured in an FDA approved factory using a heating process that heats the fibers to over 150C, allowing the tray to be safe for clinical environments. Because the products are safe and eco-friendly, the medical applications of molded pulp are a sensible option for a wide variety of needs in the clinical setting.
